Position Description

Rotorua Lakes Council is looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician (or Laboratory Technician, depending on qualifications and experience), to join the Environmental Laboratory team, which is IANZ accredited, and located at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The role involves chemical and microbiological analysis of potable, natural and waste waters along with 'key technical person' responsibilities including training others and being accountable for outputs. The position will also involve sampling, environmental monitoring and consent reporting as required.
- Experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory testing waters
- A strong capacity for being accountable for delivering accurate analytical results
- A graduate degree in a relevant science discipline
- Physically capable of carrying out fieldwork
- Highly self-motivated, highly organised, and a great work ethic
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with instrumentation and software
- Hold a full driver's licence
