**This is permanent part time position working 18.75 hours per week.**
You will be conversant with all current practices in microbiology and perhaps other applied science areas. You will be able to practically demonstrate correct use of equipment and assist staff with all health and safety obligations. Your in-depth industry knowledge and connections will help us work efficiently in a sustainable way and offer excellent decision making in the use of industry level practices and procedures. With your great communication skills, professional commitment, and ability to work independently, this could be your next exciting move.
You’ll be supporting tutors through preparing for laboratory sessions. You’ll also be looking after equipment in the laboratory, including troubleshooting and maintenance. You’ll be proficient in maintaining lab supplies and inventories, and ordering stock. It’d be great if you enjoyed the outdoors as you’ll perhaps be supporting environmental science activities. You’ll also be a champion for health and safety in the laboratory.
**Ideally, you will have**:
- Experience of working in a laboratory in a commercial or education setting
- Experience with monitoring and auditing lab supplies
- A full NZ driving licence
