Housed within The Nature Conservancy’s Resilient Watersheds Strategy, the Nature for Water Facility (‘N4W’) is a technical assistance platform that provides hand-in-hand support to local champions seeking to develop watershed investment programs. N4W aims to support 40-60 place-based engagements globally over four years via a mixture of pro-bono and fee-for-service partnerships. The Senior Engagement Manager position is responsible for (1) teaming with Science Leads to manage the overall success of individual place-based engagements undertaken by N4W, (2) project direction and oversight for a portfolio of engagements, (3) management supervision for certain N4W team members, (4) supporting N4W’s Knowledge and Impact Manager in documenting lessons and outcomes of engagements, and (5) participation in the sourcing and evaluation of new opportunities, including within the Asia Pacific region. A high degree of independence and leadership is expected of the Senior Engagement Manager, including contributing to the strategic direction of current and future N4W priorities.

The Senior Engagement Manager position reports to the N4W Director and will be based in New Zealand. **This is a short-term, 1-year position and may be extended depending on the needs of the team.**

**WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU**:
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

The Senior Engagement leads project teams composed of a Science Manager, Local Lead, Analyst(s), and Subject Matter Experts, to support the establishment and delivery of watershed investment programs in a variety of geographic contexts. This individual will lead multiple concurrent teams and is responsible for deliverables, including landscape pre-feasibility analyses, business case/Return on Investment (ROI) assessments, governance structure evaluations, sustainable funding strategies, and long-term strategic plans.

Furthermore, the Senior Engagement Manager will assume a project manager role across a portfolio of engagements, offering final quality assurance for related deliverables, managing risk, and liaising with clients. They will also assure that N4W’s Knowledge and Impact Manager has materials necessary to document lessons and outcomes of engagements within their portfolio and support effective and timely public dissemination on-line. On an ad-hoc basis, they may serve as representative for N4W and RWS with partners and at targeted fora.

Over time this position may involve direct supervision of N4W staff who are contributing across a range of assignments. Lastly, this position will assist with client origination and fundraising efforts including partnership development and defining related scopes of work, including within India and Asia Pacific region.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE**
- Engagement delivery, including:

- Driving determination of project scope
- Mobilizing and managing multidisciplinary teams of internal and external experts to deliver projects against defined workplans and associated timelines
- Identifying and engaging key actors and diverse stakeholders
- Developing financial and economic appraisals (including related financial modeling) and communicating results to diverse stakeholders, including payers
- Presenting outputs in stakeholder and/or client meetings, publications, and conference settings
- Management and project oversight responsibilities, including:

- Project management of a portfolio of N4W engagements
- Mentorship of Engagement Managers, Engagement Consultants and other N4W staff
- Direct supervision of N4W team staff
- Assisting with setting N4W’s strategic direction, including:

- Origination and development of new partnerships, including fundraising
- Contributing to discussions regarding N4W’s current and future strategic direction
- Collaborating with N4W knowledge management staff to conceptualize and develop thought leadership publications
- Frequent domestic and/or international travel (expected 30%)

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**:
