Job Description

As Sourcing Manager for Hardgoods, you’ll work collaboratively with our buying and wider sourcing and merchandise teams, to source, develop and deliver sustainable quality, well-priced, well-loved products that will excite our customers This role is pivotal, commercial and a key role in developing and delivering on our sourcing deliverables and strategies. Ideally you have 5+ years in hardgoods sourcing and have a talent to source a diverse general merchandise portfolio.

The Role:

- Pivotal link between our trading teams and our network of suppliers both locally and internationally.
- Be responsible for full costings (raw materials, manufacturing) and proactive product sourcing, alongside our overseas sourcing offices
- Interpreting product design and briefing suppliers and the offshore sourcing teams to deliver the desired outcome and in-line with NZ market requirements
- Work with suppliers to achieve the right priced, functionality and performance for our developed products.
- Ensuring our supplier base is strong and future proofed, you’ll constantly seek out ways of continuous improvement of our current processes and actively work to improve efficiencies across teams
- Managing sourcing and factory deliverables to achieve critical path timings and to achieve our sustainability goals

Based in our Auckland Support Office; this role will require some travel to our sourcing offices and suppliers in China and India, but may include other countries.

You have strong sourcing capabilities and well experienced to problem solve and mitigate potential challenges that could arise. A self-starter and highly collaborative in your approach, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management are your fortes as you manage the everyday working relationships between the buying, design and quality teams and will translate this through to our sourcing and supplier networks.

- Extensive direct sourcing background within hard goods/general merchandise
- An expert in understanding seasonal, continuity and house-brand product strategy
- Familiar with in-depth product development, product manufacturing and knowledge of trends and technology
- Flexible, process driven and focused on providing results and solutions for our customers.
- Familiar with how the cost of goods works, can build cost models for products
- Decisiveness in our fast-paced, dynamic retail world
