Strategic Sourcing Manager

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- This is an exciting time to join our team based in Onehunga where you will be responsible for driving transformation change using your innovative thinking to provide effective procurement solutions. You will deliver superior commercial results creating competitive advantage to Laminex NZ, whilst leading process improvement initiatives to optimise overall supplier performance, service levels and quality. Other key duties will include:

- Challenging existing procurement processes, analysing spend with vendors and instigating improvements to recognise cost and service performance improvements
- Developing supplier management policies, strategic sourcing strategies, risk assessments and mitigation activities
- Fostering relationships with current and potential suppliers and driving continuous value creation and performance improvement
- Creation of sourcing plans including strategies, negotiation plans, granular level spend maps, service levels/metrics, supplier audit, transition and management plans
- Undertaking relevant analysis, modelling and benchmarking activity to ensure spend categories are well managed
- Escalation and support resolution of any day to day interaction or transactional issues between suppliers and Laminex
- Managing the preparation, validation, implementation and administration of policies, procedures and robust contract management systems
- Liaising with Demand & Supply Planning to keep abreast of forecast and supply demand changes and communicate outcomes to internal and external stakeholders

**ABOUT YOU**:

- We are looking for someone with the ability to make an impact and shape the future success of the Procurement function, so as well as your tenacity to pursue successful outcomes, you will possess:

- A solid understanding of the strategic sourcing lifecycle to determine the right strategy, approach, engagement model, negotiation and contract management process to assist Laminex in effecting more efficient sourcing processes to save costs and maximise profitability
- Demonstrated capability to use and implement a variety of problem-solving techniques, decision making, good judgment and assertiveness to bring up the most effective business solution
- Highly effective influencing, negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, work collaboratively and exert influence across functional groups
- Proactive and results focused, with a strong desire for continuous improvement
- Highly skilled in managing relationship with global suppliers, analysing data for preparing and well articulating of business cases, and excellent verbal and presentation skills
- Experience in identifying and implementing best practice Supplier Relationship Management process efficiencies to measuring and improve overall supplier performance, quality, and customer service
- Sound analytical thinking and an ability to evaluate, collect data and build a strategy, determining the right engagement model with each supplier
