The Waitematā Renal Service has an opportunity for two Clinical Nurse Specialists. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team. These two Renal CNS positions work alongside the medical, nursing and allied health teams primarily focused on providing expert nursing management for renal inpatients at North Shore Hospital.
The roles also hold a nursing education portfolio to provide innovative and effective educational solutions to enable the on-going development of nursing staff who care for renal patients at Waitematā. Excellent knowledge and understanding of renal care, an ability to undertake comprehensive assessments and the ability to lead, advise and support teams, while providing training and education are all key components of this exciting and challenging role. Liaison with multiple stakeholders is essential to ensure our renal patients experience a smooth transition between primary, secondary and tertiary services.
Successful applicants will be passionate about caring for - and caring about renal patients. You will be someone who intuitively knows how to respond to and navigate through a variety of situations. Your communication style needs to be clear, respectful, open and friendly with the confidence and ability to respond to need appropriately and in a timely manner. You will have proven clinical leadership, initiative, the desire to contribute and mentor, to be a team player with a strong commitment to patient-centred care and education to those around you in the specialist teams.
You will have a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in specialist renal care. Recent experience in peritoneal dialysis is essential and recent experience of haemodialysis is highly desirable. If this sounds like the right career opportunity for you, we would love to hear from you
