**About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga**:
The Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is on the lookout for an experienced and forward-thinking Asset Engineer to take on a key interface role between our Regional Assets team and the Council’s Project Management Office. As an internal client representative, you’ll play a central role in delivering major infrastructure projects that protect, enhance, and future-proof our region. From reviewing technical designs and setting quality standards, to influencing strategic direction and supporting meaningful community engagement—this is a chance to do work that’s both deeply technical and incredibly impactful.

**About you | E pā ana ki a koe**:
You’ll bring engineering expertise, sound judgement, and a collaborative mindset to everything you do. To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Hydrology, River Management, or a related discipline
- Chartered Professional Engineer status (or actively working towards it)
- At least 5 years of engineering experience within local government, utilities, or consultancy environments
- Strong knowledge of flood protection, hydraulic structures, or natural resource engineering
- A strategic, solutions-focused approach and excellent communication skills
- A valid New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence
