Develop the policy framework, structures and settings that underpin the regulation and supervision of the New Zealand financial system.
**Te turanga - The role and your impact**
We are looking for an Adviser to join the Prudential Policy Directorate in the Financial Stability Group within the Liquidity and Macroprudential Policy team. The team are responsible for developing clear, effective policies for deposit takers, addressing areas such as liquidity, prudential disclosure, and macroprudential tools.
You will be working as part of a team of experienced and highly regarded colleagues. This work involves all aspects of policy development from problem identification and the analysis of different policy options through to the drafting of consultation documents and industry engagement.
You are expected to play a lead role in the development of clear and effective policy and guidance for banks, insurers, non-bank deposit takers and financial market infrastructures.
This is unique opportunity to work in an area that will have a direct impact both internally and externally.
**O pukenga - About you**
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- At least seven years of professional experience in public policy, regulation, law, economics, relevant financial services, or a related area.
- Academic qualifications in economics, accounting, finance, law, or a related discipline.
- The ability to scope and lead analysis to support decision-making in novel, ambiguous
and complex areas, where there are no existing frameworks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, tailored for different audiences.
