ERP Technical Specialist

**The Role**

The ERP Technical Specialist (SAP Basis Administrator) is responsible for managing the technical aspects of SAP systems. This includes installing, configuring, and maintaining SAP systems and ensuring their smooth operation. The specialist is responsible for monitoring system performance and troubleshooting any issues that arise. They must also ensure that backups and disaster recovery procedures are in place and functioning properly.

Other responsibilities may include managing system upgrades, patches, and enhancements. The ERP Technical Specialist (SAP Basis Administrator) must also stay current with the latest SAP technologies and best practices to ensure optimal system performance and security.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in SAP system installation, configuration, and upgrade activities.
- Monitor SAP system performance and report any issues to the ERP Manager.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining SAP security measures and controls.
- Collaborate with the development and functional teams to ensure SAP systems meet business requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing system backup and recovery procedures.
- Assist in managing the transport management system (TMS) and ensure proper change management processes are followed.
- Provide technical support to end-users and escalate any SAP-related issues to the Senior ERP Systems Technical Specialist (SAP Basis Administrator).
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP technology trends and make recommendations for improvements.

**About You**

We are keen to see:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in SAP Basis Administration or related field.
- Knowledge of SAP system installation, configuration, and upgrades.
- Familiarity with SAP security measures and controls.
- Basic understanding of system monitoring and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with SAP transport management system (TMS) and change management processes.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Good communication skills and ability to learn quickly.
- Experience in an SAP support role and ready to increase your knowledge and expertise
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Linux and Windows system administration experience

Our successful applicant will need a well-rounded technical skill set and the ability to flourish within a team driven environment, to ensure the service to our internal customers is delivered to the highest standards. Prior experience of projects in a regulated work environment such as oil & gas, aerospace, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing would be advantageous as well as experience in a large multi-disciplinary environment.
