As one of the senior leaders working in the Assurance Group at Police National HQ, the Chief Advisor: Technology Assurance has the day-to-day business lead for considering the legal, security, privacy, human rights and ethical implications of new policing technology. At its heart, the role supports the safe and responsible use of Police-specific technology capabilities and acts as a ‘go to’ within Police on new and emerging technology matters.
While carrying significant responsibilities, the Chief Advisor: Technology Assurance role isn’t designed to work alone. In addition to supervising two Principal Advisors as part of a small Technology Assurance Team, the Chief Advisor is expected to work collaboratively with various other managers and teams across Police, as well as with external partners - including an independent panel of experts.
The tier four role is a direct report to Police’s Chief Assurance Officer. Together with several other senior managers, the Chief Advisor: Technology Assurance is part of the Assurance Group’s Senior Leadership Team.
