Do you excel at understanding complex business challenges and translating them into innovative, high-performance, and AI-powered architectures? If so, we're looking for a Technical Lead - Java + AWS + AI Specialist to join our growing team
About the Role (your why)
**What You'll Do**:
- Java Development Leadership: Lead and contribute to the implementation of complex Java back-end services, ensuring adherence to coding standards, performance, and best practices.
- AWS & AI Platform Expertise: Demonstrate deep expertise in various core AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, EKS) and key AWS AI services (e.g., Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Comprehend) and their optimal use within a Java ecosystem.
- Client Consultation & AI Strategy: Engage with clients to understand their business requirements and identify high-impact use cases for AI/ML and generative AI, providing commercial experience-backed advice on project feasibility and ROI.
- Best Practices & Standards: Define and promote Java development, cloud architecture, and responsible AI best practices within client organizations.
**What You'll Bring**:
- AWS Expertise: Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing complex solutions within the AWS cloud environment.
- Python and Scripting: Proficiency in Python scripting for data manipulation, model interaction, and API integration.
- Commercial AI Project Experience: Proven experience contributing to or leading commercial AI projects, understanding the full lifecycle from proof-of-concept to production deployment.
- Relevant AWS Service Mastery: In-depth, hands-on knowledge of core AWS services and specific AI services like Amazon Bedrock or SageMaker.
- Consulting & Client Engagement: Proven experience in a consulting role, with a strong focus on client satisfaction and delivering practical outcomes.
- Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical, architectural, and AI concepts to diverse technical and business audiences.
- Relevant Certifications (preferred): AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Machine Learning Specialty) are highly desirable.
**Experience Levels**:
- Senior level consulting experience is essential.
- Proven experience working with enterprise clients is highly desirable.
- Code Reviews & Mentoring: Actively participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and share best practices across the team. Mentor and guide intermediate developers.
- Requirements Analysis & Technical Design: Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to refine requirements, assess technical feasibility, and translate them into robust technical designs and architectural decisions.
- Problem Solving & Debugging: Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the mobile stack, including performance bottlenecks and platform-specific bugs.
- Agile Development: Work effectively within an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in all relevant ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
**Key Skills**:
- Extensive experience with Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data), and JPA/Hibernate.
- Strong AWS experience (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, etc.).
- Proficient in Python scripting and experience with AWS SDKs (e.g., Boto3).
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of developers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Proficiency in database design and management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Experience with project management methodologies.
- Must be willing and able to remain hands-on technically, contributing to development efforts.
- (Optional): Experience with back-end technologies such as.NET Core (C#), and related tools (e.g., Entity Framework, SQL Server).
