He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are excited to be able to offer an opportunity for a Senior Nurse to join the Bay of Plenty Mental Health and Addictions service as a Nurse Manager working in Acute Adult Inpatients and Acute Patient Flow. This is a rare opportunity to work across the district looking afterour diverse population in theEastern and Western Bay of Plenty
In this role you will be working within the acute adult mental health and addiction inpatient units (Te Toki Maurere in Whakatāne and Te Whare Maiangiangi in Tauranga). This includes working with a multidisciplinary clinical team and liaising with other areas of service provision that have an acute interface.
The role provides strategic leadership and service improvement to ensure quality outcomes for Tangata Whaiora and to ensure service standards and care delivery align with Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand standards and contemporary Mental health and addiction strategies, standards, transformation, and practice.
You will work with Whakatāne and Tauranga clinicians in a number of cross-district service relationships that include addiction services and mental health services for older people.

Both sites are part of teaching schemes for student nurses and new graduate entry to specialist practice.
He Korero mōu - About You
The Senior Nursing leadership are looking for a suitably qualified Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse who is versatile and has excellent problem-solving skills, good operational experience and acute mental health care experience.
Experience in leadership including quality improvement and performance reporting is a key requirement.
Applicants will ideally also have experience in successfully engaging with Māori and whānau to deliver services that support culturally safe and effective care.
**We are looking for someone who**:
- Is an excellent problem solver and can remain clam under pressure
- Has a full range of clinical Mental health skills and knowledge
- Has significant and varied clinical experience in an acute care setting and both leadership and management experience - this is essential
- Post graduate diploma to master's level of education
