**About the Role**

The Therapy Assistant works alongside the Allied Health Therapists within Intermediate Care and the Falls Coordinator within the Community Services in their clinical work. The Therapy Assistant also provides some domestic supports as may be required for service users as well as clerical and administration services.

Health New Zealand| Te Whatu Ora Taranaki employs approximately 350 allied health professionals across its services, and we’re growing our inpatient physical health rehabilitation team by 60%. You will be joining a friendly team that is diverse in skills and experience, a team that welcomes collaboration, and that values the contribution of each team member. Our team provides rehabilitation care across acute and non-acute inpatient wards as part of Allied Health, and we’re happy to support other teams to ensure their success.

**About you**

Are you a caring and competent person who has a knowledge of the principles of rehabilitation and reablement? As part of the Intermediate Care clinic team with a focus on Falls Prevention, you will work alongside allied, nursing and medical professions so will need to have a professional manner and demonstrate effective communication skills both written and oral.

We are looking for someone who is able to establish effective therapeutic relationships with patients and be an advocate for their needs. Respect and confidentiality are essential, as much of the role involves working with patients in their own homes.

A commitment to culturally safe and appropriate practice in line with Te Tiriti principles is required.
