**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

Te Whatu Ora Improve takes a whole system, consumer, whānau-centred and equity led approach to accelerate improvement and innovation underpinned by best evidence, data and evaluation.

The primary purpose of the role is to:

- Lead key improvement programmes that deliver significant sustained benefit
- Scope definition, justification, analysis, solution design, implementation, integration into the organisation’s management systems
- Coach, mentor, and train workplace improvement teams in improvement
- Support the strategic planning processes to ensure plans are informed by data, prioritised, and aligned to the organisation’s goals

We are actively looking to support our colleagues in the Te Tokerau district and there will be opportunities to be based there/provide outreach services to the district.

Improvement Programme Managers have training and mentoring to support the development of their careers. There is also a continuous focus on achieving and maintaining a sustainable work-life balance.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- Significant Project and Programme Management experience
- Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt)
- Significant Lean experience (7+ years)
- Leadership experience (line, technical or project work)
- Change management knowledge
- Strategic and operational planning knowledge
- Exposure to process and/or system design methodologies
- Agile process management
- Excellent service improvement experience

We are Te Whatu Ora Improve based at Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We support health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand.

Te Toka Tumai’s main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children’s Hospital, located in central Auckland. We are part of Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, the overarching organisation for New Zealand’s national health service. Te Whatu Ora leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.
