About the Team

This is a newly established role within the Underwriting Support Team of Operations, working collaboratively with the Underwriters in the Commercial Property Team. The role will report into the Operations Business Support Leader.

About the role

AIG’s Underwriting Associates ensure underwriting excellence by providing end to end underwriting support to the Underwriters in the Commercial Property Team. This is a great opportunity to work with an experienced team of Underwriters who underwrite complex property risks.

What you need to know

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

- Partner with regional underwriters and/or more senior UW Support employees in the end-to-end processing of new and renewal business. Evaluates new and renewal submissions against prescribed criteria to determine completeness; documents outstanding items and include them in communication to an underwriter for review. Assists in the follow-up and securing of outstanding items from the broker.
- Perform data analytics, remodelling, when necessary, referral documentation preparation and completion.
- Review location data and CAT modelling results that are reported accurately, as appropriate.
- Analyse loss information and financial statements to facilitate quote development. Pre-populate loss rating models.
- Assist with the issuance of quotes, placing slips, binders, policies, endorsements, and cancellations within prescribed timelines.

What we’re looking for:

- Previous insurance experience and/or training; or equivalent, a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Prioritising - able to navigate and switch between multiple proprietary, vendor, web-based, and standard computer systems.
- Microsoft Office - proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Learning Agility - willingness to learn from experiences and new situations.
- Client Servicing - ability to anticipate client (internal and external) needs and act proactively.
- Problem Solving - identify problems and solutions matched to the appropriate solutions.
- Attention to Detail - demonstrate attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation is maintained.
