- Waikato Regional Council is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Procurement Lead.
- The role is focused on driving the procurement strategy, ensuring:
- Alignment with government policy.
- Delivery of outcomes that benefit communities **.**
As a leadership position, the role involves:
- Providing organisation-wide thought leadership.
- Offering trusted guidance and proactive support across all stages of procurement.
- Championing a centre-led procurement model.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies, policy framework and processes.
- Provide thought leadership and trusted guidance to the business across all procurement matters.
- Identify and lead strategic procurement opportunities.
- Strengthen internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Lead and implement a centre led procurement model.
**Mō te tangata | About you**
- Proven expertise in strategic procurement, including the development and execution of organisations wide procurement strategies.
- Skilled at identifying and implementing strategic procurement opportunities that deliver value and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
- Strategic mindset and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Be highly motivated, innovative, curious and open to new ways of doing things.
**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
- 10 years’ experience in senior procurement roles within complex organisations.
- Tertiary qualification in business, economics and/or supply chain management.
- MCIPS membership (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply).

- Reporting to the Manager Business Advisory Services.
- You will work within the Customer and Corporate services directorate.
- The CCS directorate supports the Waikato Regional Council mission through the provision of a broad range of professional services.
