Work with the Procurement Lead in this newly created role to assist to deliver our Sustainable Procurement strategy.
- Analyse and evaluate procurement data and develop reporting to identify trends, insights and opportunities for cost savings.
- Evaluate our key strategic suppliers and how we engage with them, building strong partnerships.
- Assist to drive collaboration between cross-functional stakeholders for the development and execution of Council-wide sourcing strategies to identify cost savings and value for money opportunities.
- Provide procurement support and advice to internal stakeholders.
- Compliance audits and reporting, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
**Mō te tangata | About you**
- Demonstrated knowledge of procurement best practice, with experience in similar procurement roles in complex organisations.
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Analytical and numerical capability - manage data, provide analysis and insights
- Critical thinking - ability to use data and research to make effective procurement recommendations.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Be highly motivated, innovative, curious and open to new ways of doing things.
**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
- 6 - 8 years’ experience in similar procurement roles within complex organisations
- Tertiary qualification in business, economics. Data analytics
**Mō te tīma | About the team**
- Reporting to the Manager Business Advisory Services, you will work within the Finance and business services directorate, which supports the Waikato Regional Council mission through the provision of a broad range of professional services.
- Procurement is a centre led function and this role works closely with the Procurement Lead and will act as backup for the Procurement Lead in periods of absence
