Fulton Hogan Civil has a full order book of challenging and exciting Heavy Civil and Structural Projects throughout New Zealand. To support our operations, we are looking for a Heavy Plant Field Mechanic to join our Team.

Our Plant Team prides itself on providing the best equipment and customer service. We require a like-minded individual with demonstrable experience in delivering the highest quality maintenance and repairs to a fleet in a timely, safe, cost effective manner. Your solutions focus will be the key to your success. A self-starter, you work well autonomously, thinking on your feet to get machines up and running quickly, fixing faults as you find them and keeping our fleet well maintained.

While the role is based at Ranui, Auckland we have projects throughout New Zealand. Repairs and maintenance are generally carried out at site so frequent travel can be expected

We’re looking for someone with:
It is essential that you will have solid heavy machinery and hydraulic experience. Ideally you will have experience working with crawler cranes. You will be well versed in repairing and providing preventative maintenance on heavy plant, including Crawler and Rough Terrain Cranes up to 280tn, Drilling Rigs, Excavators, Generators etc. You will be able to interpret Hydraulic and Electrical drawings and you can weld and gas cut.

You will bring to the role:

- The ability to accurately record work details including logbooks, timesheets, maintenance check sheets and process improvement/non-conformance forms
- An understanding of site requirements and the ability to self-manage time accordingly
- Regular, open communication to eliminate misunderstanding on site
- The ability to prioritise your work and work independently
- A strong eye for detail
- A high level of organisational and time management skills
- The ability to work well in many different teams
- The drive and passion to complete all jobs safely, to a high standard, in a timely manner.
