The Commission is going through an exciting period of growth, driven by increases in its functions, duties and powers, and supported by additional Government funding.
We are looking for a talented Investigator to join our high-performing Competition Investigations Team. This is a full time, permanent position based in our either Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.

Mō te tūranga | About the role
Our Competition Investigations team is responsible for monitoring compliance with the provisions of the Commerce Act relating to abuses of market power and arrangements that substantially lessen competition.
You will learn about how New Zealand industries operate and interact with people across diverse areas of the economy. The work is variable, interesting, and rewards an inquisitive mind.

**Key aspects of these roles include**:

- working in/leading teams of investigators, lawyers and economists;
- gathering, researching, and analysing complex information;
- presenting evidence and information verbally and in writing to decision-makers;
- working with internal and external stakeholders, including managers, Commissioners, and the business community; and
- working simultaneously across multiple projects.

**We are looking for Investigators who have**:

- strong analytical skills
- strong organisational and time management skills
- operated within a multidisciplinary project environment
- effective communication and sound judgement
- the ability to work individually and in a team

A degree in law and/or economics, or experience working in competition law or economics, would be an advantage.
