**Mō te tūnga |About the role**:
In this exiting and diverse role you will have the opportunity to:

- Develop and deliver effective procurement strategies that align with organisational goals and support successful project outcomes.
- Support all stages of the procurement lifecycle, including planning, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
- Provide expert advice on commercial and contract matters, helping resolve supplier issues and supporting strong contract performance.
- Build and maintain a capable supplier base to ensure quality, timely, and cost-effective delivery across a range of projects.
- Analyse spend and market trends to inform strategic decision-making and proactively manage procurement risks.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing procurement processes, systems, and tools to increase efficiency and ensure good governance.

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will need to bring a flexible mindset and a can-do attitude. Your CV will clearly demonstrate the following:

- Background in public sector procurement and management of end-to-end procurement processes, including requirements gathering, tendering, evaluation and contract negotiation.
- Experience leading government procurement and contract management activities.
- Solid experience in negotiation, a knowledge of contract development and implementation.
- A flexible, results-driven and collaborative approach coupled with a solution focused mindset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to create and manage effective procurement strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced negotiation skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations while maintaining strong relationships.

The mid-point base salary for this role is $120,521.00 per annum (remuneration band extends beyond the appointing salary to account for tenure progression).
