**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The work of the Organisational Culture Development function is to enable Te Whatu Ora to operate at its best, whilst developing the capability and agility of the teams and leaders to deliver on Te Whatu Ora's vision, purpose, values, and priorities.
This role is critical to ensuring that we proactively consider the needs of our diverse workforce with respect to our workplace culture and leadership development. Priority groups include Māori, Pacific, people with disabilities and our LGBTQIA+ community. The primary focus of this role is as follows:
- To champion and foster diverse, equitable and inclusive leadership in all areas of Te Whatu Ora to constructively influence change.
- To lead and oversee the development and implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and initiatives, fostering a culture of inclusivity and belonging.
- Develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and programmes that align with Te Whatu Ora's objectives and values.
- Provide influence, guidance and support to senior leaders and employees in promoting diversity and creating inclusive work environments and helping them to understand the connection between diversity and inclusion and operational excellence.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of diversity and inclusion initiatives, and champion recommendations for improvements.
- To positively tell the story of why creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace will benefit not just our kaimahi but all New Zealanders.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Experience in successful implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion programmes in a large organisation preferred.
- Experience leading leaders and other senior staff, including building capability and lifting performance of a team/unit and creating a team culture in which people proactively try new approaches, learn, and develop and find ways to continuously improve in their area of expertise.
- Experience developing and implementing effective group/team strategies and work plans that deliver on organisational objectives.
- Senior leadership level experience and responsibility for managing CAPEX and OPEX budgets, forecasting, cost management, organisational risk, and compliance at either a function or business unit level.
- Can demonstrate they have given meaningful effect to the expectations outlined in Te Tiriti o Waitangi in their position(s)/at a leadership level. Previous responsibility at a leadership level for developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific Peoples and groups.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or comparable experience working at a management level.
