Are you a young person who has experienced mental distress and needed the
support of mental health services?
Do you want to use your experiences to make a difference?
Youth Lived Experience Partners use their own experience and gather the
voice of others to improve mental health services that are used by people under
25 years of age. You will be systemically advocating for better outcomes for
all - using youth to youth/young person consultation processes.

experiences but must be in the youth space.
The position is 0.6 FTE or 24 hours a week, with some flexibility
regarding hours/days of the week required
You will work in partnership with family-whānau, staff and service
leadership to influence change.
You will
- have

personal experience of mental distress AND experience accessing mental health
services in Aotearoa-New Zealand.
- be able to
relate, identify and connect with youth / peers.
- be able to
work well independently and in a team.
- develop
ideas and projects that encourage young people to have a say in mental health
services and be able to effectively communicate these ideas.
- Capable of
working with Māori and Pacific groups and understand how Te Tiriti o Waitangi
applies to the mental health sector.
