Truck Mounted Crane/hiab Driver

Reporting to the Trade Manager, this full time, permanent, 40 hour a week, Monday Friday position is available at our Mitre 10 MEGA Albany store in Albany, Auckland. The hourly rate on offer would likely range from $29.00 to $31.00 per hour.

**Summary of the role**

As part of the greater logistics team with the Riviera Hardware Holdings Group, it is our aim that all Drivers be multiskilled to perform various tasks within the trade yard, timber and building area and the retail space. Primarily, this role is responsible for operating a mobile/truck mounted crane, hoist, lift, and/or winches to move and place materials and equipment in areas such as building sites.

**Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities**

Truck mounted crane/HIAB operation
- Setting up, controlling and monitoring the operation of equipment testing it before use.
- Controlling the movement of loads through various mechanisms related to the operation of the Crane/HIAB.
- Receiving, loading, unloading and dispatching of goods.

Stock
- Complete required documentation and processes correctly
- Ensure best practice operating procedures when handling stock and that damage to stock is minimized.
- Be actively involved in stock processes, process customer orders, branch transfers as per Procedure manual.

Health and safety
- Comply with all Health & Safety guidelines and procedures including working in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures
- Participate in the Health and Safety Hazard awareness process including reporting hazards, incidents and work-related injuries / accidents promptly in accordance with Company Health & Safety Policy.
- Ensure correct use of equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions including testing the operation of plant before use to ensure safety.

General
- Take on delivery responsibilities and provide highest level of service during deliveries
- Assist in the trade yard as required in serving customers, loading, and unloading stock, putting away stock. merchandising and general housekeeping
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism when driving at all times
- Maintain knowledge of the necessary legislative governances i.e., Fair Trades Act, Consumers Guarantee Act etc., and act in accordance with them
- Adhere to NZ road codes and standards

**Experience and Qualifications**
- NZQF Level 4 qualification **OR** at least 3 years previous relevant experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
- Full Class 1 New Zealand Driver’s license **AND** a Class 4 Rigid Truck **OR** a Class 5 Truck and Trailer combination required.
- This role involves heavy lifting and requires a clean driving record (no driving convictions within the last three years.)
- D (dangerous goods) endorsement required.
- Further endorsement beneficial but not a pre-requisite.
- Some experience in Retail would be advantageous.
