Job Title: Truck Driver Location: Auckland  Company: JCD Contracting Limited  Employment Type: Full-Time (30 Hours per week, Maximum as required) Pay: $27 - $32 per hour (based on experience) Positions Available: 6 Job Summary: We are seeking skilled and experienced Truck Drivers to join our team. This role involves transporting goods efficiently and safely, ensuring compliance with transport laws, and maintaining vehicle integrity. Successful candidates will be responsible for loading and unloading goods, keeping accurate records, and ensuring timely deliveries. Key Responsibilities: •Safely operate vehicles to deliver general freight to various sites across Auckland and nationwide. • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks. • Work closely with operations team to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and any incidents. • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations. • Drive heavy trucks, requiring a specially endorsed Class 4 or 5 licence. • Maneuver vehicles for safe loading and unloading. • Ensure proper weight distribution and secure goods to prevent loss or damage. • Check the condition of the load and make sure it's secure. • Keep appropriate records of and check invoices for materials they are carrying. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety: • Conduct routine vehicle checks and ensure compliance with road safety regulations. • Perform basic mechanical inspections and report issues promptly. • Applicant should have basic knowledge of the mechanics of the truck and how to maintain it. • Must pass company induction. • Knowledge of emergency procedures and how to handle hazardous conditions. • Commitment to health, safety, and compliance standards. • High standard of personal presentation and health & safety practices. Documentation & Compliance: • Maintain logbooks of driving hours and trip details. • Verify loading documents and obtain delivery certifications. • Follow transport laws, industry regulations, and emergency procedures. • Knowledge of transport law and related industry law. Work Conditions: • Must be available for early mornings, late evenings, and weekend shifts. • Willingness to travel long distances and stay overnight when required. • Work on a rotating shift schedule (day & night). • Relevant truck driving experience in New Zealand is preferable. Qualifications & Experience: • Minimum 1 year of truck driving experience. • Must have a valid clean Class 4 and 5 NZ Driver Licence or an equivalent overseas licence eligible for conversion. • Strong knowledge of road transport laws and regulations. • Experience in truck maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting. • Must pass a drug and alcohol test and have a clean criminal record. • Commitment to health, safety, and compliance standards.
