**About the role**
Tuarangi Home is a 37 bed Residential Care facility that provides hospital level and dementia care at both rest home and hospital levels. We are a skilled and dedicated workforce, working within the dementia and hospital units to provide quality care in a friendly environment. We believe that dignity of all individuals is paramount, and at Tuarangi we diligently maintain an atmosphere of empathetic non-judgmental and respectful care.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to gain invaluable leadership knowledge and experience, providing support for Tuarangi Home. The role will facilitate the professional development of staff and focus on implementation and development of a nursing care delivery model that supports service requirements. You will provide clinical leadership in nursing practice and co-ordinate department activities for the provision of a safe environment for practice.
Effective communication and development of a close working relationship with all multidisciplinary team members is the key to success in this role. With your extensive clinical experience and resident focused attitude, you will demonstrate the ability to enthusiastically lead a diverse team in a challenging but supportive environment. Working seamlessly within an Interdisciplinary Team including District Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Home Based Services & Allied Health Professionals.
We are looking for a collaborative senior nurse with strong interpersonal skills, innovative thinking, the ability to problem solve and respond in this fast-paced environment. You will have a strong team focus and be committed to growing and supporting the team.
**_ About You_**
- As a Senior Nurse you will have recent Community and Rural / Aged Care experience and proven leadership skills supporting daily operational activity and patient flow
- Your expert communication, interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage people at all levels will see you work effectively and efficiently with a diverse group of teams to lead your team to provide advanced clinical care and nursing expertise to the residents and their families/whānau.
- By utilising your advanced knowledge and clinical skills in collaboration with nursing, allied health medicine, and the wider multidisciplinary team and other external agencies you will contribute to the development and maintenance of high quality evidenced based resident care whilst also contributing to and developing appropriate nursing standards and quality initiatives.
- You can problem solve and manage complex situations as they arise, redistributing nursing resources to ensure optimal resident experience while supporting clinical delivery. Your sound interpersonal skills and impeccable management of complex situations enable you to work alongside a variety of clinicians to ensure care is delivered as required.
- You will have a comprehensive understanding of Nursing Council’s standards of competencies and can work alongside individuals to support professional development.
**_ Skills and experience_**
- Experience in relevant management and/or leadership roles with the ability to influence decision making and change.
- Interpersonal skills and building relationships.
- Strategic thinking and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Familiar with operational and financial management.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software.
- NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate and hold or be working towards a relevant Post Graduate qualification.
