We are looking for Food Preparation Assistant and a Delivery Driver to join our busy Trade/Retail Grocery Store in Ashburton Canterbury

This business is open 7 days a week and the role requires working a variable roster, including Morning and Night shift including Weekend.

**About the position: Food Preparation Assistant**

The food preparation assistant's duties in this position include helping with meal preparation and other kitchen duties to support the cooks in keeping the kitchen running smoothly.

Along with helping the cooks prepare food, other major chores include:

- assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties;
- preparing and packaging food at display
- cleaning food storage items;
- any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

**Skills and Qualities Needed**:

- No prior experience or qualifications are needed; however, it would be helpful if you had any knowledge of preparing, serving, and handling food in the hospitality sector.
- A passion for providing excellent customer service and always putting the customer first;
- the ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure;
- the ability to learn how to cook fast food meals;
- great attention to detail;
- the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own;
- the ability to work in split shifts and on weekends and public holidays;
- High-energy individuals with the ability to cope well in a very fast-paced environment are all required.

**Regarding the Delivery Driver position**:
The delivery Driver's duties will include helping to move and deliver items to customers or businesses in an efficient and secure way. Delivering orders, getting signatures, and making sure every customer is satisfied will all be part of your street interaction role as the company's face.

The primary duties encompass, but are not restricted to:

- Safely and punctually loading, transporting, and delivering goods to customers or establishments.
- Checking orders both before and after delivery to make sure that the consumer is satisfied, the charges are accurate, and the orders are complete.
- Offering top-notch customer support, responding to inquiries, and managing client grievances.
- When necessary, collect charges for supplied goods.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
- Following all traffic rules and maintaining a clean driving record.
- **Required Experience and Qualities**:

- No prior experience is required, although it would be helpful to have some knowledge of product delivery in the retail or hospitality sectors.
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
- Physically fit: capable of prolonged walking, driving, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work both alone and collaboratively, and excellent skills in handling time and providing customer service.
- A highly motivated person who can function effectively in a hectic setting.
