**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

We currently have a casual nursing opportunity for a NZ Registered Nurse with mental health scope, to provide assessment and treatment interventions for patients based in Ashburton. You'll work within a small rural multi-disciplinary team, primarily working alongside our team of case managers including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Psychiatrists. Professional development through ongoing education is encouraged and supported.

Our Community Mental Health Team covers a large geographical area, from Rakaia to the Rangitata River and across to the Southern Alps. As a professional and highly skilled registered nurse, who displays a positive attitude and enthusiasm for this area of work, you will enjoy working in a committed and hard working multi-disciplinary team. You will enjoy the challenges of working at the top of your scope of practice and be supported in achieving and maintaining this.

A motivated self-starter, you must enjoy the challenges of case management, including assessment, treatment and building relationships with consumers and their families/whanau. The ability to work in an integrated manner with our inpatient team and to develop sound working relationships with community resources and services is essential. Experience in mental health, acute assessment skills and community experience preferred. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a cohesive Multi-Disciplinary Team.
