Quality Technician

Pacific Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, is New Zealand’s only manufacturer of wire rod, reinforcing bar and coil products. You may know us for our flagship SEISMIC® brand or WIREMARK® branded fencing wire, trusted by New Zealand’s fencing industry for over 50 years.

**About the role**

We seek a motivated Quality Technician to join our busy Quality Assurance team based in Otahuhu.

Working in the Quality Assurance Test Lab and reporting to the Test Technician Team Leader, you will be contributing towards ensuring our products and services meet the required standards.

This role works on a rotating shift pattern of 5 days, 3 x 8-hour shifts per day, Monday to Friday and occasionally Saturday to meet the demands for testing.

- A team player with an enthusiastic and ‘can do’ attitude is key.
- A meticulous, quality focused and detail orientated person.
- Working as part of a team will require excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- It is preferable that you will have previous quality assurance experience with a good understanding of materials and testing methods.

**What will you be doing**

Key responsibilities include testing our products to ensure we meet the required standards, performing process and quality control, as well as provide testing service to the wire mill and external customers as required.

The successful applicant will undergo training in accordance with the training plan for Test Techs.
