The Spending Review Team carries out proactive and priority reviews that look at how public money has been spent and whether it is delivering on its intended outcomes. Our work brings together policy, systems, financial and data analysis skills to improve value for New Zealanders.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

We are looking for two experienced Senior Analysts. Each role will involve leading projects, which requires: strong policy and analytical skills; taking charge on the quality and delivery of project deliverables; informal people leadership as you support a small team of senior analysts/analysts to deliver; and engagement with senior executives and Ministers. You will join a relatively new team where you'll help build team culture, processes and approach.

- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with strengths in either systems, policy and/or financial analysis within Government
- Strong leadership capability with the skills to move into a management or technical leader role in future
- Highly developed communication, influencing and relationship management skills
- An organised, proactive mind-set, where you take initiative and ownership of a project
- Experience leading complex projects and an effective problem solver
- Demonstrated ability in supporting, mentoring and developing others
- High emotional intelligence, cultural intelligence and a growth mind-set
- High level of adaptability and resilience, comfortable working on fast moving and high priority issues.
