Wavemaker Investment Specialist

**Background**:
Group NZ has a specialized Investment division within the organization that works seamlessly with the other specialist verticals. The primary responsibility of the investment unit is to be accountable for every dollar spent by every customer across all media channels (online and offline) from implementational planning and execution through ensuring correct billing and vendor payment.

As an Investment Specialist, you will be executing the client’s paid media investment and all trade related reporting throughout the buying and negotiation process. You will be optimising throughout the campaign to ensure accurate and cost-effective delivery of campaign KPIs and you will drive innovation for our clients through proactive initiatives and having best in market, respectful relationships with media owners.

**Your responsibilities**:
**People**
- Actively participates in training as required to develop junior team members
- Manage workflow and assisting where necessary to get tasks completed within set deadlines
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external teams
- Attend and provide insightful input into group/team WIPs, agency discussions, and media owner presentations
- Develop and promote investment techniques and benefits to other media professionals within the organization.
- Ensure the Investment Manager and Investment Director has been well briefed in current operational status for their participation and contribution to groupm trading exco.
- Help to ensure that all investment team members operate to groupm’s compliance mandates.
- Be an active and valuable participant in new business generation.

**Customer**
- Maintain strong and effective relationships with customers and be accountable directly and in person when required by the agency and groupm Investment team.
- Including strong relationships both with local agency, Nexus and groupm finance teams and all agency partners in global markets
- Be prepared to present to those customers when required at any stage on the investment process from implementational planning to execution and outcomes in a simple, insightful, easy to understand format.
- Support Investment Manager to continuously track and push delivery of the trading operations goals/vision/objectives
- Deliver all agreed customer performances, and if applicable, audit targets.

**Media vendors**
- Create sustainable, mutually respectful relationships based on integrity with all media vendors
- Ensure that all relevant media vendors are included in the briefing process in a timely manner and provided with all the information to create the best value response for the team’s customers.
- Have a clear understanding of each media vendors commercial agenda and market performance from the short to the longer term.

**Product**
- Demonstrates knowledge of the media market
- Ongoing investigation into market opportunities and trends
- Can delivery ‘purposeful’ responses to briefs showing thinking and proactive, meaningful innovation for clients
- Implementation of accurate and up to date planning rates including CPT setting
- Ensuring all media buys are maximised against market trends, ongoing opportunities and ensures audience metrics form the basis of all pricing substantiations
- Manages the accurate delivery of campaigns
- Negotiates trading positions across all mediums ensuring all benchmarks (audited, client and internal), trading strategies and contractual agreements are met
- Provide analysis to assist the Investment Manager with key media owner negotiations
- Provide accurate reporting across trading, tracking and invoicing processes

**Commercial**
- Deliver to all investment KPI’s set
- Support Investment Manager to ensure all commercial agreements at both Group and agency/client levels are adequately met
- Ensure bookings are accurately loaded into the system within 48 hours of being finalised
- Ensure proformas are checked thoroughly and delivered to Finance on time
- Responds to account queries within 48 hours when received. Ensure invoice queries are resolved within 5 days.
- Keep your timesheets up to date (weekly)

**Skill requirements**
- You will require:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in investment/trading
- Must be proficient in TV buying and know how to set up and manage buysheets
- Highly numerate and organised
- Strong communication (written and verbal)
- Must be literate in Microsoft Office and industry standard tools
