Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
Our Office of the Deputy Director General is responsible for providing advice and support to the Associate Deputy Director-General and Deputy Director-General and the Senior Leadership Team in the Strategy, Policy and Legislation Directorate. We support, maintain, and improve the delivery of quality written advice and work programmes, enabling the Directorate to effectively function.

**In this role you will**:

- contribute to delivering key pieces of work for the directorate Senior Leadership team and the Manager of the Office of the Deputy Director General
- improve the quality of the Ministry's written products
- bring an understanding of the machinery of Government work and priorities, including Te Tiriti and Equity
- support senior leaders to recruit excellent people
- support the development and continuous improvement of processes and tools within the Office of the Deputy Director-General and the wider Directorate.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster good relationships
- Knowledge of the machinery of Government and governance systems
- Cultural awareness and an understanding of Te Ao Māori and the Treaty of Waitangi and our obligations under it.
