Senior Unit Pricing Analyst

**POSITION PURPOSE**:
The Unit Pricing Team is a customer focused specialist team; they support the business and client activities of the Operations division of BNP Paribas Securities Services (BP2S). The team has extensive interaction and dealings with various managers and all teams within the Operations division as well as other internal BNP Paribas Securities Services teams such as the Risk Function and Relationship Management teams.
The Unit Pricing team is responsible for ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and integrity of daily transactional and performance unit prices. The daily client deliverables run to very tight timeframes therefore there is considerable pressure on the Unit Pricing team to produce the reports and information accurately and on time. Unit Pricing is one of the last functions and activities in the fund administration chain and is therefore ultimately accountable for ensuring that any material data errors and variances are picked up and rectified before reports and prices go out to the Clients. In this manner, the team has responsibility for the ongoing fulfilment of service delivery to clients. The team is responsible for the full end to end process and at all times maintain responsibility irrespective of location. They need to fully understand controls performed in all other locations.
The Senior Unit Pricing Analyst plays an important role in leading the service delivered by the Unit Pricing team and meeting our clients’ pricing requirements.
The Senior Unit Pricing Analyst has knowledge of Fund Accounting, Unit Pricing, Investment Administration and reconciliations. They also understand the importance of accuracy in reporting, time management and the ability to operate effectively within a team to meet critical time constraints are important. Communication is also an important attribute for this role as they support the Team Leader Fund Unit Pricing in working directly with clients and provide technical advice to our clients and also to our internal departments. They manage clients and ensure all deliverables are provided accurately and on time in line with the clients’ expectations.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Assistance with management of the periodic audit requirements, including preparation of sample packs, management of audit findings and responses;
- informal performance management of the analysts;
- management of any periodic or ad hoc services provided to client, for example asset transitions;
- implementing new client’s product and process into the business;
- Assist in the implementation of team training and development plans, in particular in regards to system upgrades and new product development;
- Responsible for enhancing the MIS reporting functions for the unit pricing team, to measure and report quality, timeliness and volumetrics for the team in relation to business development and new client take-ons;
- Assist in the management of relationships with internal stakeholders, including auditors;
- Subject matter expert for unit pricing services;
- assist in the planning and implementation of new clients as the business, and products evolve;
- responsible for documentation of new processes and procedures, as a result of legislative / regulatory change, business development or new product implementation
- Insuring all controls are identified and included (where relevant) in the procedures and Risk and control matrix;
- Ensure Effective BCP
**COMPETENCIES**:
- Demonstrated history of being results focused and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong technical knowledge in domestic and international securities, funds management, valuations, corporate actions etc.
- Good theoretical and practical knowledge of key investment products, including Unit Trusts.
- Exposure to fund accounting and performance analytics is desirable
- Good understanding of basic accounting theory and practice, notably balance sheets and reconciliations
- Knowledge of compliance and operational risk requirements in the industry
- Strong analytical skills
- Key System Experience
- HiPortfolio (or other Investment System experience)
- Experience with General Ledger and investment packages/ systems
- Unit Pricing System ( PControl or other similar UP systems)
- Microsoft packages
- Excellent Excel skills (with macro level) essential
