**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We are now looking for a highly motivated, aspiring, and customer-focused Dispensary Technician to join our team at the University of Auckland. Key responsibilities of the role are to provide direct dispensing services to customers and check and supply lenses in line with orders. Along with this, you will maintain stocks of frames-related appliances and consumables - monitoring prices from outside labs and updating databases accordingly. You will also provide small group tutorials during clinic sessions and instruct and assist students rostered into the dispensing clinic - helping them with selections, adjustments, repairs, deliveries, and other related ophthalmic dispensing.

This is a Band E position, part-time, 15 hours per week role on a fixed-term basis for ten months. The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $66,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

**Qualifications**:
**He kōrero mōu | About you**

**Essential**:

- Optical Dispensing Qualification that allows registration as a Dispensing Optician with ODOB.
- At least three years of optical industry experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and supervisors.
- Ability to give direction.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good decision-making skills.

**Preferred**
- Teaching Qualification.
- Optical Dispensing Diploma or other relevant qualifications.
- Teaching skills.
