The opportunity
Based in Hawkes Bay - Napier the SHE & Quality Systems Coordinator is to maintain and improve the Safety, Health and Environment Systems, and the Quality Assurance Systems for the site - inclusive of all compliance, HACCP, documentation and procedures. The role will also play an active role in the Site Leadership Team while providing continuous guidance and support to all staff on site.
**Key accountabilities include**:
HS&E
- Instil a safety-first culture where people clearly demonstrate safe behaviours and think safety before acting.
- Maintain site compliance with all (SHE/QA) regulatory requirements
- Drive the day-to-day Health/Safety/Quality systems for the site. WALK and TALK data updated monthly and reported on a monthly basis.
- Ensure all HSE &QA incidents are accurately reported and recorded in the SHE/ENABLON/QIR database within specified timeframes.
- Conduct root cause investigations for all significant Health & Safety Environmental & Quality incidents
- Ensure all contractors/visitors are inducted to the required standard.
- Ensure hazard controls and reviews are completed, to agreed schedule;
- Responsible for organising annual site health monitoring and storing files kept for health information for staff, staff training records, and external contractor inductions;
- Support the site continuous improvement program as required - proactively contribute ideas and suggestions for improvement.
- With the SLT Team help lead SHE & Quality projects and support and contribute to site MIP projects
- Maintain exemption from food regulations through the maintenance of the HS&E plan that meets internal and external auditing;
- Provide support to the production team with any HS&E and Quality incidents and concerns
- Maintain current records including SOPs for both HS&E and Quality
- Ensure all site testings are completed as required.
Quality
- Coordinate all external regulatory, customer, and internal audits for both HS&E and Quality
- Help maintain an agreed GMP Score and drive consistent improvement across the site to improve quality standards.
- Internal audits completed as listed in the food safety plan eg GMP and documentation audits
- Help Site achieve a pass on all external audits ( AIB, Regulatory).
- Develop and maintain documents and records to meet all Quality Regulatory requirements
- Work with the Plant Manager to ensure documentation is completed correctly weekly
- Ensure investigations are completed and investigation results are entered into the QIR and Xugo Systems
- Liaise with National Quality roles to ensure internal confidence that reporting and compliance timelines and deliveries will be met.
- Analyse complaints data on a weekly basis and provide feedback to the Plant Manager
- Provide monthly reports for SLT Review.
- Maintain and update site training records;
- Ensure all regulatory/compliance required training is current.
- Develop and deliver training as necessary to support the site.
About you
- Minimum 2 years of experience of working within food industry for e.g. at a Bakery/Dairy/FMCG organisation.
- Knowledge of Food Safety, Health & Safety and MOVE Training
- Permit to Work Knowledge
- A high level of understanding of SHE and Food Safety Processes in the Manufacturing Facility
- Strong root cause analysis for Incidents
- Contractor Management, Food Safety Awareness
