**Are you an exceptional Executive Producer looking to join our News and Current Affairs team?**

The lights in News and Current Affairs never go out. On the broadcast side we start with Breakfast at 6am, then _1 NEWS at Midday, Te Karere, 1 NEWS at Six_ and _Seven Sharp_ before finishing the day with _Tonight_. We also deliver our outstanding Current Affairs shows, like Sunday, _20/20, Fair Go_ and _Q&A._ And then there's the constant updates on our 1 NEWS website, which provides breaking news as it happens 24/7.

**The opportunity - Te tūranga**

We have a unique six month fixed-term opportunity for an Executive Producer to join TVNZ in our News & Current Affairs team. The first four months role will be working on TVNZ1's Sunday programme, producing world class long-form storytelling, and the second two months role will be to cover TVNZ's Election Night and the three debates leading up to it.

**What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei**

Reporting to the Editor Content, you'll have strong editorial experience and knowledge of the current affairs landscape. You'll be a bold, innovative programme maker with a proven track record who has the energy and creativity to meet the challenges and needs of our audiences.

You will have the ability to lead and manage a team of producers, reporters and presenters in the production of content for Sunday which meets TVNZ's strategy, and reaches agreed targets of quality, budget and ratings.

Similarly, for TVNZ's Election Night and the three debates leading up to it, you will have the ability to lead and manage a team of producers, reporters and presenters to create political coverage that meets TVNZ's strategy, and to produce content that sets the news agenda and gets people talking (and watching).

**To be successful in the role, you will need**:

- Proven experience in broadcast journalism and production
- A good general knowledge and a keen awareness of local, national and international events and across daily news developments
- Solid knowledge of the industry including legislative requirements, practising codes, and News and Current Affairs policies and procedures
- Sound skills in judgement, common sense, experience and intuition
