We are looking for a dynamic and passionate person to lead our Resource Recovery team. This key role leads a team who are responsible for waste minimisation programmes, landfill operations, transfer stations, recycling facilities, kerbside collections and waste education programmes across the region.

The Manager of Resource Recovery is a vital leadership role in developing and delivering on the Council's waste minimisation goals and strategies while managing major contracts for related essential services. Managing a budget of approximately $40 million, you will demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen and the ability to negotiate with key stakeholders. You will be responsible for creating and delivering the strategic direction at a local, regional, and national level, drawing on your extensive industry experience to ensure Council is best placed to deliver successful outcomes. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to shape and develop a role to provide the best social, economic, environmental and sustainability outcomes for communities and Council.

To be successful you will have:

- 10 - 12 years senior management experience, preferably in the waste management industry and associated services
- 10 years contract management experience with a focus on large service and maintenance contracts
- 10 - 12 years in leadership and mentoring roles
- 10 years managing high value, complex projects
- Extensive strategic relationship management experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Bachelors Honours Degree in Business Management/Commerce, Environmental Studies etc.
