- **Do you have**:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in resource management planning or similar
Extensive experience in policy planning and resource management consenting
Actively involved in professional body and/or industry/network events
Extensive experience of being the Planning lead in multi-disciplinary Projects, including for power and energy sector clients
Credible public speaking experience showing technical expertise at Council hearings (policy and consent) and/or public meetings, seminar presentations or similar
Experience with presenting planning evidence in the Environment Court
Demonstration of technical collaboration to ensure best solution
Experience leading on key policy and plan making processes, including experience with section 32 evaluation writing
Experience mentoring staff within the planning profession
Ability to work at a strategic level with core clients
Ability to translate strategic advice into deliverable work for clients
A thorough working knowledge of District and Regional planning and consenting
An understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

We are a growing company, and we’re now seeking a Principal Planner to come and join our national Planning team in either Auckland or Wellington.
This role requires you to provide a high level of technical input and advice, assisting with resource allocation, and project management associated with Planning & Policy workstreams. This will include oversight and direction of contractual arrangements, supervision of project delivery to meet time and financial budgets and undertaking technical work while achieving the client’s needs.
As a senior member of the Planning team, you will contribute to the growth and development of the team in accordance with the company’s purpose and values, and may be asked to provide input into strategic planning processes, including the identification and development of new service offerings, and the acquisition of new customers.
We are looking for someone who can add value from day one by managing complex projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and to budget.
We expect that your verbal and written communication skills will be second to none, and you will be able to turn your hand to a number of different workstreams requiring input at the Principal level.
Your problem solving and technical leadership skills will be honed, and your ability to build and maintain great relationships with external clients and your colleagues goes without saying. You will also be comfortable representing 4Sight through client contact and industry events.
Teamwork is fundamental to how we operate so being willing to positively contribute to the office and team culture will be key.
