Procurement Specialist

We are seeking two people to fill this position, the role has a strong focus on involving and supporting our stakeholders to bring better outcomes and different thinking while ensuring we maintain a robust process.
Procurement at Orion:
The procurement function at Orion has been on a journey to bring effective process and structure, strong and fair commercial terms, and good contract management to our supply relationships. To keep moving forward, they have reviewed their procurement team and have created the role of procurement specialist.
The specialist role is broad reaching in its requirements with any given day involving any or all of the following:
- heavy work creating, managing, or explaining a contract
- leading strategic discussions for market strategies (and then doing the doing)
- integrating environmental and social outcomes into our procurement
- supporting effective mutual relationships with suppliers
- changing thinking, being proactive and strategic
- paperwork (they are hands-on)
- ensuring we meet Orion’s regulatory, commercial and internal compliance obligations
As a team they manage risk and cost, optimise supplier management and safety, meet and expand on ecological and environmental goals, source both domestically and internationally; and contribute to the total quality management of the organisation.

A benchmark test of skills and experience would be; that you have a good understanding of environmental and social elements of a healthy supply chain and had exposure to implementing contracts based on any or all of the following; 3910, 4911, CCCS, etc.
