About the role

Working within the Evidence Based Policing Centre (EBPC), the role of Insights Analyst includes providing advice and insight into topics such as policing demand, victimisation and offending patterns, and counting and recording standards.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Produce and publish New Zealand Police’s Official Crime Statistics.
- Respond and support all requests for information relating to New Zealand crime statistics including those from other government agencies.
- Support the development of informed insights that support the delivery of projects within the wider EBPC team.
- Assist in the development of both rapid evidence products and multi-year programmes of research.
- Work collaboratively and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary and multi-agency team within a dynamic environment.
- Develop working relationships with colleagues within EBPC and the wider Service Delivery business unit, as well as with Districts, Service Centres, and the Royal New Zealand Police College.

- Experience in analysing and interpreting data to respond effectively to requests for information.
- Strong relationship management skills including the ability to engage and maintain relationships with stakeholders enhancing information sharing and collaboration and exemplifying our core value of commitment to Māori and the Treaty.
- Experience with supporting a team in high pressure environments whilst delivering high quality outputs.
- A tertiary qualification, ideally in a quantitative field or equivalent experience is required for this role.
- An agile operator who can work efficiently and reactively to respond to changes in our operating environment; have excellent written and oral communication skills; and knowledge and understanding of cultural considerations when handling Māori and Pasifika data and/or insight to know when we need learn.
