**About the opportunity**:
Our client, Caritas, is looking to expand their Programmes team Join this organization that makes a real difference as their Programmes Assistant who will be responsible for assisting with planning, enhancing, implementing and maintaining development programmes nationally and globally.

Caritas is part of an international confederation of aid, development and social justice agencies whose work tackles both the causes and effects of poverty and injustice and responds swiftly to emergencies around the world.

**Role description**:
You will assist the Senior Programmes Coordinators and Programmes Coordinators to ensure all programmes meet Caritas’ commitment to the promotion of justice, peace and development. You will contribute to appropriate planning and reporting, as required, for the programmes and comply with Caritas project reporting standards. You will provide support, as required, to ensure programmes are on track and delivered on time and within budget.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Relationship Management Support
- Project Management Support
- Organisational Responsibilities

**This role will suit someone with all or some following background/experience/qualities**:

- Holds or working towards a tertiary qualification
- Comfortable with using the Microsoft suite of programmes (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Caritas
- Has awareness of aid policy trends is desirable
- Ability to take responsibility and work within a small team context
- Commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
- Has awareness of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori
- Has a sound understanding of subsidiarity and how this relates to the work of the Programmes team within Caritas
