Hamilton, New Zealand Waikato Institute of Technology Full time

Come and join the Centre for Education & Foundation Pathways team at Wintec - Te Pūkenga

We have a permanent full-time position teaching on the New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (NZCATT Level 5) and with our exciting International Train the Trainer programmes.

**About the role**:
This role has two primary functions.

The first part of this role is supporting adult and tertiary Kaiako who are enrolled in a programme of study to enhance their teaching journey. They will be learning about themselves, their teaching context, their learners, and exploring strategies and research-based principles to enhance their teaching.

With a strong focus on Mātauranga Māori, you will be working in a range of contexts with a focus on Tuakana
- Teina relationships and learning through wananga. You will be facilitating a programme that leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (NZCATT Level 5).

The second part of this role involves developing and delivering Train the Trainer programmes to international academics as required.

These programmes are boutique programmes that are designed specifically for the needs of the participants. This brings exciting opportunities to meet and work with people, both online and face-to-face, across the world.

As part of the teaching team on these programmes your role will involve supporting teachers to:

- Explore what they believe about teaching and what it means to be a kaiako in their own context in New Zealand or internationally.
- Implement new teaching strategies and approaches with a focus on learner-centred approaches.
- Increase their knowledge of diversity to understand their learners and support learner success.
- Push the boundaries in their teaching to make it more learner-centred, including the creation of learner-centred assessments.
- Grow their confidence in their own professional practice.
- This is a permanent full-time position._

If you enjoy teaching adults and you have excellent communication and collaboration skills this could be an opportunity for you

Wintec is moving into the future with a focus on advancing equity, especially for Māori, Pacific, and disabled learners. Experience in Mātauranga Māori would be an advantage in this role.

Additionally, to be successful in this role, you will need:

- A qualification in Adult/Tertiary Learning preferably at Master’s level
- Cultural competence, in particular working with Māori and Pacific learners
- To be able to work independently on the development and delivery of custom-made Train the Trainer programmes

Experience in:

- Planning, facilitating and assessing adult/tertiary learning programmes
- Developing safe and inclusive classroom environments
- Engaging and maintaining authentic reciprocal relationships
- Role-modelling learner-centred facilitation
