As a Paving Engineer, this role will enable the Paving crew into best practices by ensuring the team is equipped to perform to a high standard and to address technical and logístical challenges in the daily operations of the business.

Reporting to the Department manager, you will be a strong communicator with a great level of attention to detail. Capitalising on opportunities whilst ensuring success in your planning process.

In addition to the above you will:
- Provide management, coordination, and supervision of assigned asphalt paving works, undertaken by our own staff or subcontractors- Ensure appropriate resources are allocated to the job in the most efficient way- Show initiative and work with the team to develop and implement engineered solutions in the delivery of the contracted works- Develop and implement control measures to minimise risk to health and safety for workers and members of the public- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the resource consents and closed-out to specified requirements Good Work equals Good Benefits- Company vehicle provided in this position- Medical insurance for you and your whānau.- Life insurance from day one.- KiwiSaver employer contributions after service milestones up to 7%.- Fuel discount card.- Parental leave top-up payment with additional return to work support.- Family scholarships.- Ongoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunities.- Great discounts at a wide range of retailers.

We’re looking for someone with:
- Minimum Class 1 Full NZ drivers licence, Class 2 is advantageous- Experience from similar role or relevant Tertiary Qualification (BE or NZCE)- Knowledge of surfacing works would be advantageous- Experience delivering projects on time and within budget is key- The ability to develop, motivate and lead ground staff- Experience in allocating resources, material and plant
