This is a great opportunity to join a restaurant located in Te Awamutu. Duty Manager Wanted Orient Express - Bar & Restaurant is a fully licensed Italian and Turkish restaurant located in Te Awamutu.

We are seeking a Duty Manager to join our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic hospitality professional wanting to take charge of a great venue, with a lot of autonomy to run the front of house

Key Responsibilities:

- Compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
- Manage staff and communicate well with the broader team.
- Look for opportunities to grow the business and improve procedures.
- Help find, train, and manage FOH staff.
- Set high customer service standards and coach other staff to meet those standards.
- Implement and maintain health and safety protocols to guarantee a safe and clean environment for both staff and guests.
- Collaborate with the executive chef and beverage manager to create innovative menus and beverage selections that reflect our restaurant's concept and customer preferences.
- Build rapport with customers, deal with complaints.
- Proficiency in using restaurant management software and other relevant technology including social media.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation, to achieve financial targets.
- General restaurant administration including cashing up, banking, stock ordering, monthly stock taking, reporting, etc
- Solid understanding of food and beverage industry trends

**Requirements**:

- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus
- experience in restaurant/bar service using an integrated POS system together with computer literacy is required
- extensive food and beverage knowledge with a focus on premium wines, beers, and spirits
- can do, positive and level headed approach to your work with the ability to work smoothly under pressure
- excellent and proven people management skills with the ability to display strong leadership qualities
- work cohesively with all F&B Kitchen and front of house teams
- must be available at nights and weekends
- minimum of 2+ years of experience working at a licensed premises in New Zealand
- must hold a current manager's certificate
- must hold a current LCQ Certificate
- eligible to work in New Zealand
- you will ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences
- proven track record of leadership, training and understands the importance of safe and legal alcohol practices
- ensure that our establishment upholds the highest standard of responsible alcohol sales
- you will be working closely with the owners and use your skills and experience to help them to run the business efficiently
- demonstrate good management & compliance with all aspects of our Alcohol license
- make the right call regarding refusal of service, legal drinking age, ID and vaccination certificate checks
