We require an experienced, qualified, and hard-working Manager who is skilled across all categories, dedicated to quality and has a vision for continuous improvement to manage our superette in Te Awamutu.
You will have full responsibility for managing all aspects of the business.
Your duties include:
- Manage the shop effectively, ensuring that it meets all financial targets, including developing and implementing any required policies or procedures
- Ensure that the shop is open when required, and that there are sufficient staff on duty to provide good customer service
- Manage the stock levels for the shop, monitoring product turnover and expiry dates
- Ensure that stock levels are correctly monitored so that in-demand items remain in stock.
- Price older stock to sell, and arrange other pricing promotions
- Become familiar with all suppliers, identify new suppliers if required
- Ensure that purchasing takes advantage of best available suppliers and trial and change products as required
- Observe competitors’ pricing to ensure the shop is competitive but maintains acceptable profit margins
- Arrange any required advertising or promotion for the shop
- Maintain any financial or administrative records required for the shop
- Undertake financial management duties as required
- Undertake any recruitment that is required
- Train new staff, and provide ongoing performance management and training to staff
- Arrange staff rosters and keep timesheets
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations including any food safety requirements for fresh food products
- Provide retail service and deal with any customer complaints or problems
The pay band for this position is between $29.66 to $30.50 per hour, with 30 hours minimum of work per week offered.
You must be honest, reliable and be available for work any day including weekends and/or any public holidays according to a flexible schedule to suit the business requirement.
You must also have:
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer, pos and stock control system skills
- Be reliable, organised and efficient
- An excellent customer focus and high standards
- Ability to maintain retail premises to a high standard
**Salary**: $29.66 - $30.50 per hour
