**Assistant Restaurant manager/ Duty Manager**

**Pirate Of The Grill Indian Tandoori Restaurant ** is New Eatery In the Palmerston North, Where We will be serving authentic Indian Food with wide range of roasted, Sizzlers, Chef's Signature Curries, Stuffed Amritsari Naan and Chef Specials of the days. Beverages Including Alcoholic and Non Alcoholic will be served as well.

**We are looking for an Assistant Manager/ Duty Manager to help run the restaurant and to look after the back-office functions**

This is permanent and full time with a minimum of 30-35 hours per week. Because we are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, the role requires the ability to work variable hours as operational needs dictate. Person must be available on call as well in the need of covering other staff.

**Description**

In this position you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the restaurant in the absence of the Owner and organising and controlling all financial and administrative matters.

**Duties**:

- General management of the restaurant including supervision of staff
- Managing stock levels and preparing purchase orders
- Managing sales targets, estimating food and labour costs and implementing a budget
- managing day to day prices and make decision to introduce combos.
- Processing payment and deposit into bank, or safely handed to the Owner
- Keeping financial records, and maintaining and balancing accounts along with owner.
- Preparing and producing financial statements, budget and expenditure reports.
- Reconciling accounts against monthly bank statements.
- Completing end of the day and weekly report for the restaurant. sales record and expenditure reports.
- Deal with Customers and Suppliers in Professional manners.
- Be motivated and able to take charge of the restaurant responsibly.
- Welcoming to the customers to make them feel special.
- must be aware with the hospitality culture.
- Be willing and able to work weekends and on public holidays, as well as on call.
- Have the legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.

**Salary**: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
