**Assistant Bar and Restaurant Manager**
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our busy Bar and Restaurant team. **Key Responsibilities**
- Assist the Manager in overseeing daily restaurant and bar operations.
- Supervise and coordinate staff during shifts to ensure high service standards.
- Support in menu planning, promotions, and event coordination.
- Assist in staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
- Monitor food and beverage quality and service presentation.
- Manage supplier relationships, stock levels, and inventory control.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints efficiently and professionally.
- Assist in preparing rosters and ensuring adequate staff coverage.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in all service areas.
- Oversee cash handling, EFTPOS operations, and assist with daily reporting.
- Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, food safety, and workplace health regulations.
- Assist with marketing initiatives and social media promotions.
- Support cost control by monitoring wastage and optimizing resource use.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate service.
- Provide leadership support in the absence of the Manager.
**Experience / Qualification / Knowledge**
- Hold LCQ qualification and/or General Manager’s Certificate (or willing to obtain).
- Diploma or higher qualification in Business, Management, or Hospitality preferred.
- Proven work experience in hospitality, preferably in a supervisory or customer service role.
- Knowledge of ethnic cuisines and spices is an advantage.
- Valid driver licence is mandatory.
- Good understanding of NZ hospitality laws, health & safety, and compliance requirements.
- Availability to work within opening hours (including weekends and holidays)
- Ability to work split shifts, over weekends, and on public holidays.

Work hours - 30 hours per week or more as required by the business
Wages
- $23.50 to $23.60 per hour as negotiated
