**Who we are**
The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono is the leading non-profit, non-partisan New Zealand institution on Asia and delivers programmes and initiatives to equip New Zealanders to thrive in Asia. This includes building knowledge and understanding through activities in research and Track II non-government diplomacy, media, education, arts, sports, business and entrepreneurship and leadership development.

**The role**
The Foundation is funded to facilitate New Zealand’s engagement with leading experts across Asia - and our work in this space is growing. You will be drawing on your proven foreign and trade policy expertise and your connectivity across key government departments, academic institutions and media to deliver quality dialogues, both on
- and offshore, on issues of significance for New Zealand.
You will have oversight of a research programme which generates data and collateral to support an informed public conversation around New Zealand’s relationship with Asia. This includes maintaining a longitudinal survey of over 25 years standing, as well as identifying new research areas through discussion with key sector contacts and stakeholders.
Your excellent communication skills will be well utilised, as you disseminate the research outputs to a diverse audience through presentations, publications and media commentaries, as well as representing the Foundation on various advisory boards and forums. You will contribute to the strategic direction of the Foundation.
As well as having strong political acumen, you will need influencing skills to bring people together, facilitate dialogues, and achieve results. This role is suited to those with well-established networks within New Zealand, and a broad understanding of New Zealand’s international relations with and in Asia.
