**Purpose of the role**

Ensure the integrity of the AA's security infrastructure is proactively maintained and protecting the business from modern day cyber threats. Keep the Association running smoothly through robust processes that adhere to ICT policy and industry standard. Work with engineering teams to ensure systems are configured in alignment with security baselines and or best practices, all in aid of improving both long term security maturity, and operational security risks. This role will be part of a small security team working on those objectives, and will be focused on completing technical security tasks, or supporting other teams.

You will work closely alongside a Security Architect, helping implement the roadmap they have designed. As business-driven initiatives transition through design into build, you will ensure security elements of the solution are designed and implemented effectively. Doing so through either direct configuration of systems, or by supporting other technical resources (such as developers/system admins/network engineers) in their implementation effort.

You will work alongside the Security Analyst on audits and security testing, as well as being a key contributor to indecent and threat responses.

**Key day-to-day responsibilities**
- Respond to cyber threats and incidents, working as part of the response team.
- Respond to new high severity vulnerabilities, working with relevant system teams to access threats and respond accordingly.
- Manage existing vulnerabilities, prioritising and allocating remedial work, and supporting engineering teams in effective mitigation.
- Work with outsourced security partners to maintain efficacy of monitoring systems.
- Work with architects to design and implement new technologies to support the security roadmap.
- Support auditing and security testing work, ensuring it is effective and that remedial actions are targeted and effective.

**Key skills and experience required**

- Solid understanding of best practice security processes, and security frameworks such as CIS20, ISO27001, NIST etc.
- Experience working with compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, GDPR, APRA/CPS234
- Proven skills managing security tools including SIEM, Vulnerability scanners, automated assessment tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong relationship management skills
- A passion for getting the most out of technology
- Critical ability to work within those policies, as well as external compliance rules, industry best practices and methodologies
- Awareness/working knowledge of common methodologies ITIL, agile, SAFE, Scrum, Kanban
- Demonstrate good time management skills and work practices to meet short and medium-term goals
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Ability to identify and clearly articulate improvements
- Be able to plan, coordinate and deliver small projects independently
- Work as part of a project team on larger projects, sharing tasks and responsibility for delivering to agreed timeframes

**You should also ideally have**:

- 3 years+ experience in information and cyber security
- A strong technical background around creating robust security frameworks
- Good understanding of technology and security auditing processes
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO are desirable but not essential
- Computer Science Degree or similar
