As a Community Facilitator at Spectrum Care, you will support people with goals, into employment, develop programmes and small projects, and much more, often led by your own creativity and initiative. The specific focus for a Community Facilitator can change over time, so adaptability is key. For example, this role will initially focus on supporting the growth of the awesome Gig Buddies Auckland project, but may change in time to another focus area, such as employment, sports, systems and processes to support community participation, and/or other key organisational priorities.
If you are a people person, who enjoys supporting people with disabilities to reach their potential through goals and aspirations then we would like to hear from you. You will be a confident, passionate person who believes that active community engagement and robust support networks are a fundamental focus for disabled people. You will be comfortable talking with new people, be creative/innovative and great at getting people to get on board with your sound ideas. Most importantly you will be inspired to support people to make their own decisions and live the life that they want.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in health/disability-related area or relevant qualification e.g. psychology, public relations or social work.
- Recent experience supporting people with disabilities is preferred
- Full New Zealand driver's licence
- Networking and brokerage skills
- Basic computer skills, including confidence with Word, Excel and Outlook
