Auckland City, New Zealand Plunket Full time

Are you passionate about music and the Pacific culture and supporting your community through empowering whānau? If you are a self-motivated and enthusiastic, warm individual - we have the opportunity for you. Join us in this **casual part time Pacifica Beatz Music Facilitator role based in West Auckland**. The time requirement is approximately 4 hours per week (during business hours) and these vary from week to week depending on community demand.

**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are passionate about creating an engaging environment for tamariki and a relaxed atmosphere to support strong, supportive community connections. The Pasifika Beatz Music group provides a place for families to meet and enjoy multicultural songs. The session fosters children’s learning, increases awareness of the Polynesian, Melanesian and Micronesian cultures, and allows participants to positively engage with one another.

We provide a range of interactive music and dance in Samoan, Tongan, Cook Island Maori, Niuean, Fijian, Tokelaun, Tuvaluan, Kiribati, Rotuman and Māori. You will receive training and resources will be provided to ensure you have the information you need to conduct these sessions.

Our facilitators prepare, set up and pack up the Music group sessions which are generally held once a week. You will meet and greet caregivers and facilitate a stimulating learning environment and welcoming atmosphere for families through the presentation of songs. You'll also have the opportunity to highlight facts and stories from across the Pacific cultures. These sessions are held in a number of mobile music settings (in Auckland Libraries as well as variety of settings including playgroups, ECE).

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

You will be an organised people-person with excellent communication skills alongside facilitation skills and the confidence to present to a group. You'll embody Pacific values in the way you build and maintain respectful connections, and either be confident in or keen to understand Pasifika music and dance from all over Te Moana Nui a Kiwa.

Tamariki are often unpredictable, so you will be able to change tact and ensure that the sessions are enjoyable, safe and a positive experience for all. The successful applicant must also hold a current driver’s license.

We expect all our kaimahi to show a commitment to live our values; kia māia - to be courageous, kia Māhaki - to be humble, kia manaaki - to care and kia tūhono - to stand in relationship.

**Ngā hua mahi o Te Whānau Āwhina | What we offer**

Our role gives you a space for creativity, and place in a great team where we all care about making life easier for our people who are working directly with tamariki and their whānau.

**Me pēhea te tuku tono | How to apply**

**_ He huanui oranga mo ngā mokopuna whakatipuranga roto i ngā hapori heke iho, heke iho_**
